Professional Staff
STACEY J. JASKOL, ESQUIRE has been practicing law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 1985, both as a sole practitioner and with large law firms in Philadelphia and New Jersey. She has spent almost her entire professional career in real estate and business law, representing a wide range of clients, including individuals as well as both large and small businesses. Stacey has had the opportunity to structure and participate in a vast assortment of transactional matters. She brings, with her experience, extensive and comprehensive real estate, business and tax knowledge to Capital IRA.
Stacey is a 1985 graduate of the Temple University School of Law, cum laude, where she was proud to be a member of the Temple Law Quarterly staff and received honors in real estate transactions, sales and taxation courses. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981, with a minor in Spanish.
Stacey is a member of the Steering Committee for BookMates, a children’s literacy program, and has been fundraising for the American Cancer Society for many years. She is also Co-Chair of the University of Pennsylvania South Jersey Secondary School Committee. Stacey has lived with her husband and three children in Southern New Jersey for over twenty years.
STEVEN ROTHBERG, ESQUIRE has extensive experience in real estate and title insurance law. Steve is a principal in both a regional title insurance agency and a national tax-deferred exchange company. In addition to maintaining his own law practice, Steve has acted as underwriting counsel and litigator for a national title insurance underwriter, handling title claims litigation. He is a frequent lecturer and has been widely published. He is also active in several real estate and title insurance industry boards and committees.
Steve is a graduate of the Temple University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Temple Environmental Law and Technical Journal. He has been admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 1990. Steve received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a concentration in Economics, from the University of Delaware in 1987, where he graduated with honors, and was a member of several honor societies.
Steve resides in Southern New Jersey with his wife and two children. He is active in the Southern New Jersey Outdoors Club and is involved with The Nature Conservancy. Steve is also active in the Golden Slipper Charities, which provide a variety of educational, social and cultural opportunities for disadvantaged children, adults and seniors.

Brian C. Klaus, Brian Klaus joined Surety Title Corporation, the parent company of Capital IRA, as a sales and marketing representative in 1994. Over the last decade, he successfully worked to expand Surety's revenue stream and presence in new markets. He has been vitally involved with the development and management of joint ventures and affiliated business relationships. His recent role has been expanded to include responsibility for our Sales and Marketing Department. Klaus has earned the respect and admiration of peers and customers alike and was welcomed as a partner in 2003. Klaus continues to contribute to developing Surety's long term growth strategy including expansion of products, services and establishing a platform for national business. He is vitally involved in, and his vision lends to, Surety's growth as a regional leader in the settlement service industry. Klaus graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics and has continued his management training by attending classes at Wharton's prestigious Aresty Institute for Executive Education. He is actively involved in various charitable organizations including the Martin Luther King Jr. Daycare Centers and Haddonfield Youth sports. |

Meral Smith, Executive Vice President of Operations Meral Smith is the Treasurer and Corporate Secretary for Surety Title. Smith was one of the original founders and assists in the Company's growth by managing the day to day operations. Her strong financial background and business acumen is a strong element in Surety's success. Smith holds a Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University where she was named one of their "50 finest" graduates. She has been a licensed CPA in New Jersey since 1984 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants where she was a past director. Meral is involved with Haddonfield Child Care and the March of Dimes. |

John J. DeSantis, Jr., Executive Vice President of Finance John DeSantis joined Surety Title in 1997 as the Controller and has become an integral part of our team. His background consists of 25 years experience in the area of financial management for the real estate industry. Prior to his tenure with Surety, he was employed for 11 years by Clover Financial Corporation where he handled the financial management and accounting functions for over 80 limited partnerships. His background also includes a key role in the new deals and acquisition area of the FDI Group, a leading real estate investment banker. DeSantis plays a vital role in Surety's financial operations. He has responsibility for the entire accounting department, asset management, investment banking and fiscal reporting which collectively impact a significant portion of our business. John also oversees our technology footprint as well as the financial aspects of a myriad number of affiliate operations DeSantis is a graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
